Embellished Sweaters

On Trend: Embellished Sweaters

Time for day 3! This time it's all about the sparkle and the shine. Embellished and sparkly sweaters have been all over the fashion frontier this last season, and it doesn't look like it's about to end anytime soon. Everyone loves a little glitz and glam, and a cozy sweater/sweatshirt is a great way to get the look and remain comfy.

Colored Jeans

Time for Day Two of my favorite trends this fall/winter.

Next up: Colored jeans! Now, I know they've been around a while, and I do hope they will stay. Deep, jewel toned colored are all the rage this season. Don't forget the bright pops too! Below I've illustrated two of my favorite ways to wear colored jeans:

Go Bold: I wear this outfit constantly! Pairing a bright colored jean with a dark colored sweater is the perfect way to play with colors and patterns.

Go Classic: Equestrian is IN (which, as a horse girl, makes me happy), and this look shows how even colored denim can play up the look. Pairing dark green jeans with a classic white button down, along with some brown accessories, makes the look classic with a fashionable twist.

Excuse me while I go stock up on some more colors for spring!

Winter Trend: Polka Dots

To start off 2013 right I'm going to share with you guys my top 3 winter/fall trends.

Number One: Polka Dots

I am obsessed with polka dots! After buying three shirts and a sweater I realized I was hooked! Below I've illustrated my favorite combination. Layering a polka dot sweater over a denim/chambray shirt and adding a pair of colorful skinnies ( a trend that was also big this season). I love bright colors among the dullness of winter, and this was definitely a favorite of mine!

Trend Alert: Double Up on Button Ups

Hey guys!

I'm not terribly certain how long this trend has been around, but I recently fell in love with the look of double button ups, as seen around countless fashion and style blogs. It's the perfect way to layer in the "winter" months here in Central Cali, where it hardly drops below 50 degrees.

I found it easy to layer two shirts that were of a similar color, but it would also be fun to try with coordinating, or even wild colors!

Plaid shirt: very old, from Kohl's I think
Chambray shirt: Forever 21, $6 (sale)

I should also note that I love to use more than one color in Fall/Winter months, especially layering two jewel toned pieces together. It may seem a little crazy at first, but the lighter colored second shirt anchors the look without making it look too cartoon-y.
Plum jeans: $8 (with groupon Listed here
Boots: Ross, $24

OOTD: Interview

I have a job interview today!

Yeah, pretty excited. Not going to spoil it by saying where just yet, but it is a trendy second hand store (trust me, it's awesome).

So I decided to go with a classic look; with a twist.

Button down: $10 (sale) The Limited
Khakis: $40 The Limited
Belt: $20 The Limited

I am a firm believer that jeans are never appropriate for an interview. EVER. But a full professional look would have been too formal for this interview. The solution? Tucking khakis into boots for a casual yet classy equestrian vibe.

Aren't these super cute? Gift from sister, from Icing

Statement necklace: $12 Forever 21

A faux-hauk to spice up my hair-do

Slouchy boots: $12 Plato's Closet

Let me know what you guys think, and wish me luck!

Obsession: 3D Nail Bows

I have a confession to make: I am obsessed with 3D nail art, but I never have enough guts to wear them. I've found a happy medium though with 3D nail art bows.

They are amazing to take a look from "meh" to "O-M-G".

This latest look shows how a simple addition of a nail bow can take a plain ole stripped mani into a wow factor presentation. I always get tons of compliments on these when I use them, because they are subtle but stylish. You can buy large lots of bows and other 3D designs from many places, but I have yet to order anything but the bows for fear of addiction!

Here are some other great 3D nail art pieces:
